Videos from the workshop: exploring shared goals of care in acute hospital settings
The Commission hosted a national workshop to:
- explore current practice around discussing, developing and documenting shared goals of care for patients at risk of dying in hospital
- identify clinical issues where further work is needed
- seek agreement on underpinning clinical processes, scope and principles for future work.
This workshop was a first step towards understanding current issues and developing a national approach for shared goals of care for New Zealand. The next step will be to involve consumers to understand their perspectives and co-design solutions.
Videos of the following presentations from the morning session are available:

The afternoon session used an ‘unconferencing’ approach. Participants self-created the agenda. This allowed time and space for everyone to engage creatively around the topics that were most relevant and interesting to them. Here is the summary of this session.
