Te Rā Haumaru Tūroro o Aotearoa
Aotearoa Patient Safety Day | Te Rā Haumaru Tūroro o Aotearoa was observed on 17 November 2023.
The theme of Aotearoa Patient Safety Day | Te Rā Haumaru Tūroro o Aotearoa 2023 was ‘Engaging patients for patient safety’ with the tagline ‘Elevate the voice of patients’. This aligned with the international theme from the World Health Organization’s Global Patient Safety Day.
The theme has relevance across the health care sector, including for primary and secondary health care providers, midwives, community health care providers and allied health care workers.
Our focus was on increasing awareness and understanding of the code of expectations for health entities’ engagement with consumers and whānau.
We invited health care providers across Aotearoa New Zealand to join us to celebrate this important mahi on Friday 17 November 2023.
