Top tips for a successful co-design project

Between July 2017 and June 2018, we worked with Ko Awatea’s Dr Lynne Maher and the four Kōrero mai lead sites to co-design patient, family and whānau escalation of care processes.

To have a successful co-design project, we learned that you need to:

  • engage your project sponsor with your co-design team from the start and have regular catch-ups
  • manage capacity and time by working out who is available and what skills they bring
  • involve consumers at every stage of the project.
