Variety in health seminar for Korean community
A number of health topics were covered in a seminar for members of Auckland’s Korean community run by Hyejung Kim, a member of the Health Quality & Safety Commission’s consumer network.
Some of the participants at the health seminar for the Korean community.
Topics included:
- eligibility for publicly funded health services and enrolling with a primary health organisation
- advance care planning and Enduring Power of Attorney
- dementia prevention and care.
Korean community and health specialists delivered expert information in Korean and a number of consumers shared their personal experiences of the topics.
It was a great example of the Commission’s consumer representatives being proactive about health improvement in their communities.
