New audio interviews highlight improvements in trauma care and rehabilitation
A new audio interview series featuring health care professionals and researchers involved in trauma care and rehabilitation has been published on the Te Tāhū Hauora Health Quality & Safety Commission website.
Called Trauma Exchange, the interviews are of interest to anyone involved in trauma care and rehabilitation. They cover a range of topics:
- State of trauma research: Professor Belinda Gabbe talks about how injury research is driving innovation and new perspectives in the care of people affected by major trauma.
- Māori experiences of trauma care and rehabilitation: Sharon Pihema gives an insight into the experiences of trauma care and rehabilitation for Māori.
- Rehabilitation: How changes to community rehabilitation and the timeliness of services received following major trauma has had a positive impact on consumers – with Jonathan Armstrong.
- Critical haemorrhage: Dr Kerry Gunn talks about a quality improvement project that aimed to reduce avoidable deaths from blood loss after trauma.
- A history of the National Trauma Network: An overview of the first 10 years of the Network and what's next with clinical lead Prof Ian Civil and former Network director Siobhan Isles.
