Looking to the future for infection prevention and control in residential care
Many people involved in infection prevention and control (IPC) are aiming to get back to ‘business as usual’. As we move forward, it is important to apply what we’ve learned from the pandemic to other areas of IPC. It is also time to take stock of how our IPC programmes comply with Ngā paerewa Health and disability services standard NZS 8134:2021.
This webinar will include two presentations that address these topics.
Tanya Jackways will discuss one of the newer tools for IPC that we can apply to other outbreaks such as norovirus, and Claire Underwood will guide us through section 5.3 Antimicrobial stewardship programme and implementation.
Who should attend?
Residential care managers, registered nurses and IPC leads, Te Whatu Ora district IPC support staff, IPC professionals and others involved in implementing IPC programmes in the residential care setting.
